Restylane in Tampa

For patients who struggle with early signs of aging in the form of wrinkles, Tampa plastic surgeon Dr. Albear offers treatments with Restylane. Restylane contains components of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in your skin and provides much-needed hydration and support. When injected into targeted lines and wrinkles on the face, Restylane restores lost volume and helps you to appear younger with smoother skin.

As the main components of Restylane are naturally occurring in your skin, it is appropriate to treat signs of aging on patients of many ages and of varying skin types.

Treatment Applications for Restylane in Tampa

In his Tampa plastic surgery office, Dr. Albear uses Restylane to treat a variety of wrinkles and depressions on the face. While it is FDA approved for treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds as well as nasolabial folds, also known as "laugh lines", Restylane may also be used for:

Your Restylane Procedure

Prior to beginning your treatment with Restylane in Pasco County, your skin at the treatment site will be cleansed in preparation for injection. As Restylane contains lidocaine to increase patient comfort, no other anesthetic is usually necessary. Using special techniques that may include a form of fanning or crosshatching, Dr. Albear will inject the Restylane solution beneath the surface of your skin. When the solution is injected directly into your visible wrinkles, you will see an immediate correction. At this time, Dr. Albear may also gently massage the injection site with his hand to ensure a smooth placement of the product.

What to Expect After Restylane Treatment

After your treatment of Restylane in Pasco County, it is not uncommon for the treatment site to feel overly full. Any swelling you experience can be diminished with the application of an ice pack. This and other possible side effects, like slight redness, will be short-lived. In your aftercare instructions from Dr. Albear, you will be asked to limit strenuous movement for a day, but you should be able to return to your regular routine.

The beautiful wrinkle-diminishing effects of your Restylane treatment should last six to 12 months. During this time period, you may wish to visit Dr. Albear's office for touch-up treatments. These visits, which will prolong the effect of the Restylane, will usually require less of the product.
